Every week, Tusk Logistics tracks tens of thousands of parcel deliveries across our nationwide network of alternative carriers. As expected, Thanksgiving and Black Friday brought the first real stress test of peak season, and the data shows exactly how the network responded.
📦 On-Time Delivery: 95%
🔥 Delivered Within Two Days: 80.3%
⏱ Of the shipments that were late, 67% arrived the very next day

This was the first meaningful dip in OTP we’ve seen this peak, but it was also one of the most predictable. The slowdown wasn’t tied to a single geography or carrier. Instead, it was driven by timing: the majority of late deliveries were tendered immediately before or just after Thanksgiving Day, when volume surges and handoffs naturally tighten.
What stands out is how quickly the network recovered. Even with holiday pressure, most “late” parcels still moved fast and landed within one extra day. That consistency is exactly why retailers are increasingly leaning on alternative carriers to navigate peak.
💪 100% On-Time Delivery
💪 Carriers with >97% OTP
Peak is only getting busier from here. We’ll keep monitoring performance across the network to give retailers the clearest real-time view of how alternative carriers are delivering when it matters most.
