Every week, Tusk Logistics tracks tens of thousands of parcel deliveries across our nationwide network of alternative carriers to give shippers a clear, data-backed view of last-mile performance.
We now publish these results weekly, offering an objective look at on-time performance, transit speed, and recovery trends across the alternative carrier ecosystem.
Here’s what we saw across the Tusk alternative carrier network last week:
From a network perspective, this marks a continued return to pre-peak performance norms, with on-time delivery consistently settling back into the 96–97% range.

The vast majority of late deliveries last week were tied to the New Year’s Eve holiday, which created short-term disruptions and slightly longer recovery windows for a small subset of shipments.
Outside of that holiday effect, network-wide performance since NYE has been strong. Transit times normalized quickly, recovery rates remained high, and carriers demonstrated the operational flexibility shippers rely on during post-peak resets.
This is exactly why weekly measurement matters: isolated calendar events can skew topline numbers, but trend data tells the real story.

Several alternative carriers delivered exceptional results last week:
Consistent appearances on this list—and strong returns after peak—highlight which carriers are operating with durable capacity, disciplined execution, and predictable outcomes.
As peak season fades, many shippers reassess carrier mix, routing logic, and service-level expectations. The data continues to reinforce a core takeaway:
Alternative carriers are delivering national-carrier-level reliability—often with faster regional transit times—when performance is tracked and managed correctly.
The shippers who benefit most are the ones reviewing performance weekly and adjusting quickly, not waiting for monthly or quarterly summaries.
